1. What is Bunchups?

Bunchups is a mobile-only platform that connects people for small, meaningful in-person gatherings based on shared interests like board games, fitness, sports, exploring, learning new skills, working together, practising yoga, etc.

At Bunchups, we believe that small gatherings have the power to create big moments. And we are determined to make those moments happen for everyone. We’re here to help people rediscover the joy of shared experiences, the thrill of like-minded connections, and the fun of turning passions into lifelong memories. Unlike large events, our focus is on intimate one-on-one or small group interactions that foster deeper, more meaningful connections.

While Bunchups facilitates enjoyable experiences like playing board games, trying new recipes, or exploring new places, it also aims to address a growing need: Combating loneliness and mental health issues: By building connections through shared interests, Bunchups can help individuals combat feelings of loneliness and isolation, positively impacting their well-being.

2. How is Bunchups different from Meetup?

Unlike Meetup or large group events, Bunchups is focused on small, meaningful interactions. We help you meet individuals or small groups instantly — no long planning, no crowd anxiety. Plus, we prioritise verified users, in-person experiences, and hyper-relevant matches based on your actual interests.

3. Is Bunchups free to use?

Yes! You can download and use Bunchups for free, including browsing activities and joining gatherings. Some premium features like advanced filtering, instant notifications, and curated activity suggestions are available through optional upgrades.

4. How does Bunchups keep users safe?

Safety is at the core of Bunchups. Every user must pass mandatory phone number verification and selfie-based identity verification before they can interact with others. We also flag inappropriate content or behaviour and allow users to report and block anyone instantly.

5. Can I plan my own bunchup?

Absolutely. Planning is what makes Bunchups thrive. You can list a simple bunchup— like “coffee and chat at local café”. You’re always in control of what, where, and when.

6. What kinds of bunchups can I expect?

You’ll find all kinds of bunchups: board games, fitness sessions, cooking meetups, co-working, mindful walks, language exchanges, and more — all based on what locals near you are into.

7. Can I choose who I meet?

Yes. You can browse upcoming bunchups by category, location and time. You’ll also be able to see verified profiles of planners and participants before joining.

8. Is Bunchups for dating?

No — Bunchups is not a dating app. It’s for making human connections around shared interests. While friendships and deep connections naturally form, our platform is designed to create platonic, social gatherings, not romantic matches.

9. Do I have to meet people in public places?

We strongly recommend it. For safety and comfort, all Bunchups should start in public spaces like parks, cafés, libraries, etc. Private location-based listings are discouraged and can be flagged.

10. Is my location visible to others?

No. While we use your approximate area (like suburb or city) to show nearby bunchups, your exact location is never shared with other users.

11. How are users matched or suggested to me?

Bunchups uses a mix of your selected interests, location, and availability to show the most relevant bunchups and people. You can filter everything manually as well for full control.

12. Can I use Bunchups outside my city or when travelling?

Yes — Bunchups works anywhere it’s available. If you’re travelling or moving cities, you’ll start seeing activities and people in that new area automatically.

13. Do I need to download the app to join?

Yes. Bunchups is an app-only platform, currently available on iOS and Android. The experience is optimised for mobile to make it easy to plan or join a bunchup anytime, anywhere.

14. I’m shy or introverted — will this work for me?

Absolutely. Bunchups was built for people like you. Unlike group events that feel overwhelming, you can join 1-on-1 or smaller bunchups at your pace, around what you love doing. It’s a connection without the pressure.

15. How do I report a user or a bad experience?

You can report a user directly from their profile or the activity page. We take all reports seriously and review them promptly. Bunchups is a safe space, and we’re here to keep it that way.

16. What if no one is listing any activities near me yet?

You can be the spark! Start by listing something simple, like “Grab a coffee and chat.” Once people in your area see activity picking up, more listings will follow. You can also invite friends to join using your unique referral link.

17. Can I cancel or leave a Bunchup I’ve joined?

Yes. Life happens. You can cancel at any time, and we encourage you to let the planner know as a courtesy so they’re not left hanging.

18. How can I contact Bunchups support?

You Were Meant to Belong

You weren’t meant to scroll endlessly. You were meant to connect.
To share a laugh. A coffee. A chat that runs longer than expected. You were meant for more than likes and follows.
And someone nearby is probably feeling the same way right now.
